I wanted to let everyone know that I've decided to move Escape Into Fiction over to WordPress. Blogger has become increasingly aggravating to work with and I prefer to spend my time enjoying my blogging experience, not cursing Blogger for doing (or not doing) things that I don't want (or want).
Here is the new web address so those of you following can update your feeds or links: http://escapeintofiction.wordpress.com/
I have already imported all of the posts from this site to the new site but if they look a bit strange right now, I apologize. I am still going through and making slight adjustments to tailor the wordpress site more to my liking. I hope this doesn't cause too much inconvenience or confusion.
I look forward to seeing all of you over on the new site and thanks again for understanding and for following Escape Into Fiction! Hopefully the new site will be much more friendly and more fun to use for me and for you!
*Note: There will no longer be any posts after this announcement. All new posts will be published on WordPress.

Teaser Tuesday for October 16, 2012
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
•Grab your current read•Open to a random page
•Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
•BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
•Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This weeks' teaser comes from Generation Dead (Generation Dead #1) by Daniel Waters:
She decided that pursuing Tommy through the Oxoboxo woods was a bad idea. She turned around.
And the dead boy reached for her, his pale eyes glowing in the darkness. (p. 61)

Musing Mondays [1]
MUSING MONDAYS… is a weekly event where MizB of Should Be Reading will ask a book/reading-related question, and you answer with your own thoughts on the topic.
This is a new meme for me that I think should be interesting. I've been looking for something to post about on Mondays and I look forward to joining in on these Q/A posts!
This week’s musing — courtesy of http://cmashlovestoread.com — asks…Do you have a system as to which books to read from your “requested review pile? What is it? What about when there are too many to read in a certain time frame? {apologies to those who don’t review}
Answer: I actually do not have a requested review pile because I don't actually get involved in reviewing for authors/publishers for pre-publication works. I honestly don't have the time to get involved with this and prefer to just read and review already released books at my leisure. I don't really have a system for any of the reviews I do write because it all depends on what kind of mood I'm in at the moment as to which book I'll read next. As for too many to read in a certain time frame, that doesn't necessarily affect me, either. But I can say that I have had to stop purchasing books lately because I have about 270 books that I own that I have not read yet. And of those 270, probably 220 will eventually be read and have a review done on them while the rest are just more casual, fun reads that I don't intend to review.
I'd love to hear how others handle their "requested review pile" or even how they handle their ever-growing TBR piles! So, leave me a link or comment below!

"Waiting on" Wednesday: Red Rain
"Waiting on" Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It spotlights upcoming
releases we are eagerly anticipating!
by R. L. Stine
Release Date: October 16, 2012
Goodreads Description:R.L. Stine, New York Times bestselling author of the Goosebumps and Fear Street series—the biggest selling children’s books of all time—delivers a terrifying new adult horror novel centered on a town in the grip of a sinister revolt.
Before there was J.K. Rowling, before there was Stephenie Meyer or Suzanne Collins, there was R.L. Stine. Witty, creepy, and compulsively readable, he defined horror for a generation of young readers—readers who have now come of age.
Travel writer Lea Sutter finds herself on a small island off the coast of South Carolina, the wrong place at the wrong time. A merciless, unanticipated hurricane cuts a path of destruction and Lea barely escapes with her life. In the storm’s aftermath, she discovers orphaned twin boys and impulsively decides to adopt them. The boys, Samuel and Daniel, seem amiable and immensely grateful; Lea’s family back on Long Island—husband Mark and their two children, Ira and Elena—aren’t quite so pleased. But even they can’t anticipate the twins’ true nature—or predict that, within a few weeks’ time, Mark will wind up implicated in two brutal murders, with the police narrowing in.
For the millions of readers who grew up on Goosebumps, and for every fan of deviously inventive horror, this is a must-read from a beloved master of the genre.
Why am I eagerly waiting on this? Growing up, I practically devoured all of the Fear Street novels by R. L. Stine. So, I can't wait to find out how well a creepy adult novel is written by this extremely talented author. The synopsis itself is intriguing and I love the unsettling cover! So, yeah, I definitely want to get my hands on this as soon as I can!
What are you eagerly waiting on?
Leave me a link or a comment below and happy WoW day!

Teaser Tuesday for October 9, 2012
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
•Grab your current read•Open to a random page
•Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
•BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
•Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This weeks' teaser comes from Changeless (Parasol Protectorate #2) by Gail Carriger:
“Who the devil are you?” Alexia asked, the man’s cavalier interference irritating her into using actual profanity.
“Major Channing Channing of the Chesterfield Channings.”
Alexia gawked. No wonder he was so very full of himself. One would have to be, laboring all one’s life under a name like that. (p. 16)
I've just started this book, so it was a bit hard to find a good teaser. But the entire scene between these two is pretty humorous and I love Alexia's way of handling the situation. And seriously, who in their right mind would name their child Channing Channing? lol

Recommend A... [15]
Recommend A... is a weekly meme hosted by Shanyn at Chick Loves
Lit. The object is to recommend a book each week that fits the theme
for that week. If you'd like to learn more about this new meme and join in the
fun, check out Shanyn's Recommend A... page!
This weeks' theme is Recommend A...Book That You Could Give As A Birthday Present:
by Mark Tufo
Release Date: February 5, 2012
# of Pages: 308
Series: Zombie Fallout #1
My 5-Star Review
Goodreads Description:Late Fall 2010 Reuters Estimates say that nearly three thousand people nationwide, and fifteen thousand people worldwide have died of the H1N1 virus or Swine flu and nearly eighty thousand cases have been confirmed in hospitals and clinics across the United States and the world, the World Heath Organization reported.
Okay, I know what you're probably thinking...why in the world would she give a zombie book as a birthday present? Well, this isn't just any zombie book. Yeah, it's got zombies in it and some of the descriptions are somewhat nausea-inducing. But, this book is about so much more. It's about family and survival and ethics and morals. Plus, it truly has some really hilarious passages peppered throughout. I absolutely loved Mike Talbot, the main character in this story, and I feel that most anyone could easily relate to him and his reactions to and thoughts of the events unfolding around him. The book is fast-paced and it pulls you in from the very beginning, not letting you go until you've finished the last word on the last page. And then it stays with you long after you've finished it and leaves you craving the rest of the books in this series. So, yeah, I think this would be an awesome birthday present. And with my birthday being exactly one week from today, I'm hoping that my hubby will take pity on me and get me the rest of the books in this series! lol
What's your recommendation?
